Seedboxco.net Review

13:42 Posted by Jurgens Krause , , 2 comments

Regardless of why you need one, there are so many Seedbox hosts available that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find the right one for your needs.

I recently signed up for a seedbox from seedboxco.net, and was pleasantly surprised by their offerings. The first thing that stood out to me was the very competitive pricing.

I signed up for the cheapest option, which is already more than I need, with I price that I have not seen beaten by anyone else.

What truly sets Seedboxco's seedboxes apart though is their "AppBox"concept:
With your Seedbox account you get access to a number of App Slots, which you can use for anything ranging from a basic hosted torrent client all the way to a cloud based Minecraft server. Other options include a functional Ubuntu Destktop Environment with VNC support, a PLEX Server, VPN Server or a wordpress site.

To get an app up and running is as simple as a couple of mouse clicks, and within minutes you are up and running.

I used my slots for a Transmission client, paired with an Ubuntu instance which I used to run all the scripts to clean up my downloads and Sync them to my local server, which is something you usually have to pay extra for.

App Installation Screen

I have dealt with a few other seedboxes in the past, in while the App concept might not be as intuitive as traditional seedboxes, it makes up for it by it's sheer versatility.

The last thing that stood out for me was the quick response times to technical queries. I had a few issues initially adapting to the App environment, but the staff were always quick and capable in resolving my problems.

All in all, I can highly recommend Seedboxco.net for your next seedbox

Stay tuned for a post on how I set up scripting on my seedboxco server to automate all my downloads!

Simple DNS redirect for Google Chromecast

10:43 Posted by Jurgens Krause , , 1 comment

Google Chromecast, as well as newer versions of Android, are forced to use Google's DNS servers. This means that if you are using a DNS redirection service to access Netflix for example, it will not work on the Chromecast or on your Android device.

Mikrotik Netflix selective Routing

16:45 Posted by Jurgens Krause , , , 13 comments

If you live in a country without Netflix, you are forced to use a VPN to get Netflix access. Unfortunately there is no easy way to route Netflix traffic exclusively. The scripts below will help to build an address list of IP's to route through the tunnel. It should work with any VPN provider

Static Netflix Routes

12:18 Posted by Jurgens Krause , , , 5 comments

A lot of people have multiple internet connections and use static routing to determine which connection a certain application uses. This is also true if you use a VPN connection to get access to services like Netflix/Hulu or other geo-locked services.

I have created this route list which works well with UnoTelly, but should work equally well for any other provider.
